Bogota, Colombia

Bogota, Colombia from Mt. Monserrate.  3,200 m above sea level but I've been in Peru for several weeks, I was unphased.  My Australian hiking mate was definitely phased, this is higher than any point in her country.

Machu Picchu

I made it to Machu Picchu.  Maybe a tad behind schedule.  So amazingly fun!!

Guillermo el Pescador

I'm happy to say that with the gun I got me a nice bird.  However, the fish don't like the way I cast a line.  Guillaume was catching all day.

Damn Mosquitoes

What can I say? I have sweet, delicious blood and all the mosquitoes want a taste. My jeans rub against them and they itch like hell.  The ones on my feet are the worst, every step is painful.

Pelo Largo

Hair's getting long.

Valle de Majes de nuevo

Another view of the beautiful valley.  They also grow bananas, avacados, papayas, and mangos.

Valle de Majes

I spend this last weekend in the house of my friend Guillaume's father-in-law.  He has a milk farm
in the Valle de Majes.  It was a great time.  We went fishing, bird hunting, swimming, ate delicious pig, paloma, duck, chicken, and relaxed to the max.

New York City

No I'm not in New York.  Last year after I returned to Boston from France. I took the train to Washington, D.C. where two of my cousins, James and Cavet, were doing fall semester internships.  After a few days there where I wandered around trying to find stuff I hadn't already done in previous trips, visiting my mom, we headed to New York City on a bus to meet up with another cousin, Kathryn.  She was there for work.  I planned on sleeping on the floor, because I wasn't part of the original plan.  However, Kath's boss gave up his super suite so we'd be more comfortable.  Holy cow, were we more comfortable.  Try the 51st floor of the New York Palace hotel with a view of St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Plaza.  Luckily there were a few sofas for me to use, so no floor crashing this trip.  (James on left, Cavet on right.)

Plane Ride, Direction South

On my flight from Toronto to Lima I got incredibly lucky.  I was sitting next to the window and had nobody next to me!  Buena suerte indeed!  As we passed over Florida we were able to see the Kennedy Space Center.  I thought it was awesome and I love this pic!!  About an hour afterwards we passed over a huge lightning storm that I got to watch from above.  It was very cool but pics of dark clouds with electricity inside them don't turn out very well.

Every Day and Night = Paradise

If I ever stop wandering, Hawai'i is a strong candidate.  There's nothing better than never having to put on socks.  Even when the weather is bad, it's incredibly good.

Volcanos Nat'l Park

At Volcanos National Park in Hawai'i.  Wanted to see lava, but not this time.

Spearfish

I reeled it in, but unfortunately did not get to eat him.  I heard he was turned into fish jerky and tasted kind of bland.

Volcano Misti

This is one of three volcanos that surround the city of Arequipa, Peru. They are part of the fun earthquakes that happen here. This one is the most picturesque.

Terramoto!

Holy cow as I was publishing that last post there was a small earthquake here in Arequipa! Please don't worry it was very mild and all through grade school we had earthquake drills so I knew exactly how to handle it. First one I've ever felt, pretty damn surreal!!

Gone fishin'

Here's the spearfish I caught off the coast of Big Island Hawai‘i

Aloha from Hawai‘i

I'm on Hawai‘i, aka the Big Island, and I'm too relaxed to be worrying about blogging. So very sorry. In a few days I'll get back on track with beautiful pics from the island. Until then Aloha!!
