Polar Plunge

All the way to Antarctica, and you thought I wouldn't get in the water?! You crazy, of course I did.
Check facebook for the video.

Antarctic Dance Party

We had a BBQ earlier because we were leaving the continent this night. We then danced until it got dark which, if you look at the other pictures, you can understand is pretty late.

La Luna

So bright and lovely

Iced Beer

Yeah there is ice in the beer, but it's ice that's at least 10,000 years old, probably older. How could I not put it in there? (Also, forgot to take a pic of my J+C so...iced beer it is)

Petey Penguin

My feathered buddy and I sharing skuawking stories.

Late Night Sunset

I took this from the boat around 11:30 PM

Antarctica!!

Yup here I am literally on the continent itself. No islands close by or any of that BS. Gentoo penguins behind me too.

Las montañas desaparecieron

Out with the sun and in with the clouds. The first two days were very sunny, even hot at times. I have a wicked good splash of red on my face, neck and arms. Today the clouds rolled in and brought some cold wind, I even saw my breath!

Avenida Maipú

Avenida Maipú today. The Governor's house is on the right and hasn't changed much. You can also see the small obelisco on the left in both pictures.

Avenida Maipú

The second main street back in the old days...

Yámana

The Gospel of Luke in local indigenous (and now basically extinct) Yámana language.

Argentine Flag

La bandera de Argentina. Me encanta este país.

Bahía de Ushuaia

Here is the actual Bahía de Ushuaia (Ushuaia Bay). With sailboats and a smaller cruise ship, which is docked at Puerto Ushuaia (Ushuaia Port) which is full of giant steel shipping crates.

Enclosed Bay

Here is a view from the other side of the bay. Opposite the earlier posted pic. This water is so calm because it's a bay that is closed off from the ocean by a narrow strip of land, kind of like a small lake. It is salt water though.

Ushuaia

Like this beautiful vista of Ushuaia and the enclosed bay.

Ushuaia-El fin del mundo!

Here I am in the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. It took longer than sin to get here and I am pooped, but also very stoked. There should be some very pretty views coming in the next few days, so don't forget to peep them out.
